Trowse Primary

About Our School

Trowse Primary School was started in 1870 by the Colman family in order to accommodate the educational needs of the workers’ children. Today, we are a small, popular, successful and friendly primary school for children aged between 4 and 11 years.

Our ethos is one of a calm learning environment where children are challenged and supported to be the best they can be.

Although we are located less than a mile from the city of Norwich, we are part of a beautiful village community. The traditional Victorian building has been sensitively and imaginatively modernised, with an additional building adding to the facilities for Foundation Stage. We look over the large village green and have plenty of countryside surrounding us.

We are a welcoming school and show kindness and respect to all; everyone is valued as an individual. We believe in celebrating achievement and fostering in children an intrinsic motivation to learn about the world around them, equipping them to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens of the world.

We are having a new building constructed for us- due to open September 2020. This will allow the school to grow with the village, as more housing is built.
