Trowse Primary School was started in 1870 by the Colman family in order to accommodate the educational needs of the workers’ children. Today, we are a popular, successful and friendly primary school for children aged between 4 and 11 years. Our ethos is one of a calm learning environment where children are challenged and supported to be the best they can be.
Although Trowse is located less than a mile from the city of Norwich, we are part of a beautiful village community with plenty of countryside surrounding us. The village has a 'common' which is used lots by families. We also have facilities like Norfolk Snowsports and Whitlingham Adventure on our doorstep- which we use!
We have a brand new purpose built building (opened November 2020) to meet the needs of our popular growing village community. The school will grow over the next few years to one class per year group: a population of 210 children. We also have a nursery building on site too which will open for it's first little ones in September 2021!
We are a welcoming school and show kindness and respect to all; everyone is valued as an individual. We believe in celebrating achievement and fostering in children an intrinsic motivation to learn about the world around them, equipping them to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens of the world.
