Vision for Computing in School.

At Trowse Primary School, we believe every learner should feel confident and capable when engaging with technology - whether it’s familiar or emerging. By demonstrating how computers can support a wide range of tasks, we aim to foster a positive and curious mindset toward technological change.

Our goal is to empower children to adapt to new technologies and use them safely, effectively, and ethically to improve lives within our global society. We achieve this by delivering a robust, up-to-date computing curriculum and ensuring that technology is accessible across all subjects. We are committed to expanding access to computing resources across all year groups and using software that prepares pupils for life beyond school.

Through our computing curriculum, we support learners in becoming:

  • Confident individuals who can navigate digital environments with ease,

  • Successful learners who use technology to enhance their understanding,

  • Responsible global citizens who engage with technology thoughtfully and safely.

We recognise that technology is a central part of modern life, and as innovations - particularly in areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI) - accelerate, it is vital that our pupils develop strong digital literacy. Our intent is not only to teach children how to use technology, but to help them understand it, question it, and use it responsibly.

By embedding computing across the curriculum, we strive to give our pupils the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in a digital world—now and in the future.
